>Estir's Retreat<
>Overview<

The word of a special place begins to spread all across the realm. Initially, its name was passed along from Loner to Loner, and it was believed to have originated with the Wandering Trader, Merce. "All are welcome!" so he'd promised. It didn't take long for the first curious few to come sniffing around.

The vast gathering of Loners in one place couldn't escape the notice of the pack wolves, however. It was not long until they, too, developed an interest in the quiet sanctuary that seemed to suddenly appear without warning.

The sanctuary and its caretaker, of course.

***

Over the Spring, a well-tended area of neutral ground has popped up in the Way. This place, aptly named Estir's Retreat by the sanctuary's caretaker, Estir, welcomes all wolves in the realm. For its debut, Estir has put together a small celebration of sorts and encourages everyone to participate to their heart's content.

>What is Estir's Retreat?<

Estir's Retreat is a neutral territory that is not officially claimed by any faction. The area is comprised of a sunny fishing hole, surrounded by lush plant life and plentiful resources. It is looked after by Estir, although she encourages the wolves who visit her to avoid thinking of her as an authority figure.

The purpose of the Retreat is to act as a crossroads, offering a safe place for any wolf to rest during a long journey, a location where wolves from different factions may meet on neutral ground, a center for bartering and trading resources, and perhaps even a temporary or permanent home for displaced wolves with nowhere else to go.

>Rules of the Retreat<

In order to ensure the security of the Retreat, there are a few rules that Estir asks all visitors to abide by. Failure to do so will result in the offending wolf being removed from the grounds by the permanent residents of the Retreat.

  • No violence is permitted on the soil of Estir's Retreat. This is a place of peace, not conflict.

  • The resources of Estir's Retreat are for everyone to enjoy, but taking more than one needs or stealing from the collective is not tolerated.

  • Pack wolves may discuss their cultures with one another if they wish, but there may be no active worship of any deity on the soil of Estir's Retreat.

  • Wolves may come and go from the Retreat as they please. Visitors are welcome to stay for as long as they like, even permanently, if they so choose, and no one needs permission to leave.

  • Estir permits pack wolves to use the Retreat as a neutral meeting ground for diplomatic discussions, but she and the wolves who make their homes at the Retreat will never choose sides in a conflict or disagreement.

>Event Mechanics<
>Roam the Retreat<

Players interested in plot-specific activities at the Retreat may request the roll of a random prompt by using the @Mod tag in the #Estir's-Retreat discord channel with the message 'Roam the Retreat.'

You may then use your generated prompt as inspiration for a RP/Lit/Art piece that corresponds to the event. Collaborating with other members is allowed and encouraged!

>Merce's Merch<

For those interested in items for their inventory, worry not!

The Wandering Trader, Merce, will be staying at Estir's Retreat for the entirety of the event, meaning that trading with him is now more accessible than ever! Don't miss out, take advantage of this chance to swoop in and score some deals!

>Go Fish!<

As for players who want a gamified experience will be able to participate in a special fishing mini-game that corresponds to the event!

The fishing hole at Estir's Retreat is full of delicious morsels just waiting to be caught! This activity not only provides food for all of the guests staying at the Retreat, but it is also a fun way to bond with your peers.

>Fishing Rules<
  • Use of the fishing hole is only permitted during the day, meaning that wolves may only fish within a certain timeframe. At night, everyone is trying to sleep, so let's keep the noise to a minimum! Mechanically, this means you may only roll for fishing results a limited number of times per day. A notification will be posted in the event channel when the cooldown has been reset, allowing you to fish again.

  • Before you can go fishing, you must first gather some Bait. Tossing an insect into the water draws the fish to the surface, making them easier to catch and bugs are all over the Retreat, so it's easy to find! Bait may only be gathered once per day to avoid draining the resources around the Retreat. A notification will be posted in the event channel when the cooldown has been reset, allowing you to hunt for Bait again.

  • To hunt for Bait, tag @sensh-ii in the #Estir's-Retreat channel with the message 'Bait Hunt.' A roll will be conducted to determine the results of your hunt. The kind of Bait you receive then determines how many times a day you may roll for fishing results. Bait cannot be saved/stacked between days. At the end of the day, all unused insects escape and crawl away! You may use the provided section on your Fishipedia to keep track of how much Bait you have for the day. Just remember to update it properly!

  • Once you have your Bait, you may tag @sensh-ii in the #Estir's-Retreat channel with the message 'Go Fish.' A roll will be conducted to determine the results of your fishing trip. You may do this a number of times per day as indicated by the Bait you are using. When you are out of Bait, you are out of fishing trips for the day and must wait until the cooldown has passed in order to begin the process again.

  • There are four categories of fish that inhabit Estir's Retreat: Common, Unusual, Rare, and one Legendary. Each fish you catch will have their name, category, and appearance revealed and can be added to your Fishipedia once you've identified it. Try to encounter as many as you can!

At the end of the event, something exciting may happen for those who have filled out a hefty amount of their Fishipedia! The template for the Fishipedia can be found at the link below. To use it, go to file > make a copy.

The event will run from March 25th to May 31st! Happy fishing, everyone!
